Unity Key to Lebanon’s Victory over Zionists: Zarif

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif described “rapport and strategic unity” among the Lebanese government, nation, army and resistance forces as the key to victory against the Zionist enemy.

Politics

In separate message to Secretary-General of Hezbollah Seyed Hassan Nasrallah and Caretaker Foreign Minister of Lebanon Zeina Akar, Zarif congratulated the Arab country on the anniversary of liberation of its southern regions from Israeli occupation back in 2000.

Praising the courageous resistance forces for the sacrifices made in order to liberate the southern parts of Lebanon from the Israeli regime, the Iranian foreign minister emphasized that rapport and strategic unity among the Lebanese nation, government, army and resistance forces is the key to success against the Zionist enemy.

He also expressed confidence that the course initiated by the prudent Lebanese leaders will steer the Arab country to prosperity, stability and progress.

Every year in May, Lebanon commemorates the anniversary of the Israeli withdrawal from its southern territories, known as Resistance and Liberation Day.

Hezbollah forces pushed the Israeli troops out of the southern parts of Lebanon on May 25, 2000, after more than two decades of occupation.

The national holiday in Lebanon is seen as a turning point that changed the regional equations and debunked the myth of Israel’s invincibility.
