Iran’s Women’s Suffers Second Defeat in Belarus Camp
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s women’s football team lost to Uzbekistan 5-0 in a friendly match Friday night.
Team Melli started its training camp in Belarus with a 6-0 loss against the host.
Iran is preparing for the 2022 AFC Women's Asian Cup qualification in September.
“We showed a better performance against Uzbekistan compared to our first match against Belarus,” Shohreh Mousavi, vice president of Iran football federation, said.
“We made several chances on Uzbekistan’s goal but failed to score. I think it was a good training camp for our team,” she added.
Iran’s women’s football team will return to Tehran Saturday night.
