Diplomats Discuss Promotion of Iran-Oman Ties

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian and Omani diplomats in a meeting in Muscat weighed plans for the expansion of relations between the two Muslim neighbors.

Ali Asghar Khaji, the Iranian Foreign Minister's senior adviser in special political affairs, held talks with Omani Foreign Minister Badr Al Busaidi during a visit to Muscat on Tuesday.

They talked about the latest developments in Iran-Oman relations, developments in Yemen, and other regional issues.

Elaborating on Tehran's efforts to resolve the humanitarian issues and stop the war in Yemen, Khaji welcomed Oman's move to dispatch a delegation to Sana'a and its efforts to contribute to the peaceful resolution of the crisis in cooperation with the UN.

The Omani minister, for his part, highlighted Muscat's efforts to stop the current humanitarian disaster in Yemen and contribute to the region's stability.

He also hailed Iran's effective role in regional developments.

During his stay in Muscat, Khaji also met Sheikh Khalifa Al-Harthy, the Deputy Foreign Minister of Oman for Political Affairs.
