Katanec Congratulates Iran on Victory over Iraq
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iraq football team coach Srecko Katanec congratulated Iran over booking a place in Third Round of 2022 World Cup qualification.
Iran football team edged past Iraq 1-0 on Tuesday to finish as Group C winner.
“Congratulations to Iran for the win and also qualifying to the next round,” said Katanec.
“They had one chance in the first half and they scored from it. Iran is one of the best teams and it has shown quality but unfortunately, we always concede goals."
“We improved in the second half because we knew that we had secured our place in the next stage but we still conceded some chances and we must draw lessons from the defeat,” he added.
