Poll: 70% Say US Gov't Has More Information about UFOs than It Is Telling Public

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – An overwhelming majority of voters said the US government has more information about unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP), also known as UFOs, than it is currently telling the public, a new Hill-HarrisX poll finds.

Seventy percent of registered voters in the June 17-18 survey said the government is not telling the public everything when it comes to UAPs, while 30 percent of respondents said the government is sharing everything on the matter.

The survey found a majority of voters across demographics, including partisans, agree that the government is holding back information on UAPs.

An unclassified intelligence report released Friday confirmed the US government has encountered more than 140 UAPs since 2004, but said no evidence of extraterrestrial life has been found.

The report offered several potential explanations for the sightings that were of human origin, though it also left the door open to “other” reasoning.

The most recent Hill-HarrisX poll was conducted online among 942 registered voters. It has a margin of error of 3.19 percentage points.
