Iran’s Parliament Receives Quarterly Report on JCPOA
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Iranian Foreign Ministry submitted the 22nd three-month report to the parliament on the implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), the 2015 nuclear agreement from which the US withdrew in 2018.
The quarterly report submitted to the parliament on Monday was the last one prepared by the administration of outgoing President Hassan Rouhani.
With 213 pages and 14 sections, the report has been submitted to Chairman of the Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Vahid Jalalzadeh.
It includes a detailed description of implementation of the JCPOA in recent years and the latest status of the Vienna negotiations for the revival of the agreement.
The US, under former president Donald Trump, left the nuclear deal in 2018 and initiated a “maximum pressure” policy against Iran, prompting Tehran to take remedial measures by gradually reducing its nuclear commitments under the deal.
Since April, representatives from Iran and the P4+1 group of countries – France, Britain, Germany, Russia and China – have been holding talks in Vienna aimed at revitalizing the JCPOA and bringing the US back to compliance.
