Iran Wins Continental Futsal Championship
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran claimed the title of the Continental Futsal Championship Thailand on Friday.
Team Melli defeated Thailand 5-1 in the tournament’s final match.
Alireza Rafieipour (two goals), Behzad Azimi (two goals) and Farhad Tavakoli scored for the Iran.
Earlier in the day, Uzbekistan defeated Egypt 4-0 in the bronze-medal match.
The tournament was held in Bangkok, Thailand from July 25 to 30.
The Asia No. 1 is preparing for the 2021 FIFA Futsal World Cup, where it has been drawn in Group F along with defending champion Argentina, USA, and Serbia.
The 2021 FIFA Futsal World Cup will be held in Lithuania from September 12 to October 3.
