Greco-Roman Wrestler Saravi Wins Iran’s First Medal in Wrestling

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Mohammad Hadi Saravi claimed a bronze medal in the 97kg category in 2020 Olympic Games on Tuesday.

He defeated Arvi Savolainen from Finland 9-2 in the bronze-medal bout.

Saravi was favorite to win a gold medal in the Games but lost to Olympic champion Artur Aleksanyan from Armenia in the event’s semi-finals.

The wrestling competition at the 2020 Summer Olympics is taking place at the Makuhari Messe in Mihama-ku.
