Iran’s Davoudi Takes Silver at Olympics’ Weightlifting

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Ali Davoudi from Iran won a silver medal in the men's +109 kg weightlifting at the Tokyo Olympics on Wednesday.

He lifted 200kg in the snatch and 241kg in the clean and jerk for a total weight of 441kg.

Georgia's Lasha Talakhadze broke his own world record to win the gold medal in Tokyo.

The 27-year-old lifted a total of 488 kg to improve the record of 485 kg he set earlier this year.

The Rio 2016 gold medal winner lifted 223 in the snatch and 265kg in the clean and jerk.

Syria's Man Asaad won the bronze with 424 kg. ​
