Shaikh Salman Offers Condolences on Passing of Iran’s Mohammadi

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Asian Football Confederation (AFC) President Shaikh Salman sent his condolences to Iran football federation and to the family and friends of former national futsal player Kazem Mohammadi who passed away at the age of 48 on Tuesday.

Kazem was an accomplished futsal player and was part of IR Iran’s team that won seven AFC Futsal Championship titles in 1999, 2000, 2001, 2003, 2004, 2007 and 2008.

He was also the top goalscorer in the 1999 edition and scored in the final against Japan at the 2007 AFC Futsal Championship. Mohammadi also represented his country in the 2004 FIFA Futsal World Championship in Chinese Taipei.

The AFC President said, “On behalf of the AFC and the Asian football family, I would like to express my deepest sympathy to the family and friends of Kazem Mohammadi.

“He was an important figure in helping Iran win seven AFC Futsal Championship titles and his incredible achievements in futsal will forever be cherished and remembered.”

The thoughts and prayers of the AFC and the rest of the Asian football family are with Mohammadi’s family, friends and the FFIRI, he added.
