President Raisi Introduces Proposed Cabinet to Iranian Parliament

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi on Wednesday submitted the list of his proposed ministerial picks to the Parliament for a vote of confidence, six days after his swearing-in ceremony.

Speaking to Tasnim, MP Vali Esmaeili confirmed that the president has submitted the list of the proposed ministers to the Parliament’s presiding board.

The proposed ministers in the list are as follows:

Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance: Seyed Ehsan Khandoozi

Minister of Intelligence: Hojjatoleslam Khatib

Minister of Foreign Affairs: Hossein Amirabdollahian

Minister of Communication and Information Technology: Eesa Zarepoor

Minister of Education: Hossein Baghgoli

Minister of Health, Treatment, and Medical Education: Bahram Einollahi

Minister of Labor, Cooperatives, and Welfare: Hojjat Abdolmaleki

Minister of Agricultural Jihad: Seyed Javad Sadatinejad

Minister of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics: General Mohammad Reza Qaraee Ashtiani

Minister of Justice: Amin Hossein Rahimi

Minister of Roads and Urban Development: Rostam Qassemi

Minister of Industry, Mine, and Trade: Seyed Reza Fatemi Amin

Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance: Mohammad Mahdi Esmaeili

Interior Minister: Ahmad Vahidi

Oil Minister: Javad Owji

Minister of Energy: Ali Akbar Mehrabian

Minister of Science, Research and Technology: Mohammad Ali Zolfigol

Ministry of Cultural Heritage: Ezzatollah Zarqami

Raisi took the oath of office on August 5. He had two weeks to submit his new cabinet to the parliament, but drew up the shortlist in only six days.

The lawmakers are now going to assess the programs of the proposed ministerial picks for a week, before an open session for the vote of confidence.
