Coronavirus in Iran: 4,000 New Cases Hospitalized

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The number of the coronavirus patients who have been admitted to the hospital across Iran over the past 24 hours remained slightly above 4,000, the Health Ministry said on Saturday.

The new figures released by the Health Ministry indicate that the total number of people tested positive for COVID-19 in Iran has exceeded 4,895,400 following the detection of 26,034 new cases since yesterday.

Of the new cases detected in the past 24 hours, 4,002 patients have been admitted to the hospital.

At least 4,117,000 patients have recovered from the coronavirus infection so far or have been discharged from hospitals across Iran.

The ministry also put the death toll from COVID-19 in Iran at 105,901, saying the disease has taken the lives of 614 patients over the past 24 hours.

Among those undergoing treatment in medical centers at present, 7,845 coronavirus patients are in the intensive care units.

More than 28.55 million coronavirus diagnostic tests have been carried out in Iran so far and over 18.04 million people have received the first dose of coronavirus vaccine.

The number of people infected with COVID-19 across the world has surpassed 216 million and the death toll has exceeded 4.5 million.
