Iranian Judo Athlete Kheirollahzadeh Wins Gold at Paralympics 2020

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian judo athlete Mohammad Reza Kheirollahzadeh won a gold medal in the 2020 Paralympic Games on Sunday.

He defeated Theador Subba from Jamaica in the +100kg category and also beat his Korean rival Gwang Geun Choi before the final match.

Kheirollahzadeh earned Iran’s second gold in judo by beating Georgian Revaz Chikoidze in the final.

Vahid Nouri also won a gold medal in the men’s -90kg weight category.

Kheirollahzadeh, who is nicknamed the “The Tiger of Mazandaran”, won the Para World Championships in Portugal in 2018 and also came second at the Asian Para Games in Jakarta, Indonesia, the same year.
