More than 7,870 victims of COVID-19 in Iran are in severe condition and are being treated in intensive care facilities, the Health Ministry said on Sunday.
The death toll from the pandemic in Iran has risen to 106,482, as 581 more Iranians have succumbed to the deadly disease in the last 24 hours.
Over the last 24 hours, 31,516 new cases of COVID-19 infection were reported, with 3,614 of them hospitalized.
The Health Ministry said more than 4,146,700 individuals have recovered or been discharged from hospitals out of a total of 4,926,964 sick people.
The Ministry also said that more than 18.26 million Iranians have received the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine, while over 7.91 million have received the second dosage.
The number of people infected with COVID-19 across the world has surpassed 216 million and the death toll has exceeded 4.5 million.
