Dragan Skocic Names Iran Squad for Syria Match in World Cup Qualifier

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran football team head coach Dragan Skocic called up 27 players for Syria match in the 2022 World Cup qualification Round 3.

Sports

Iran is scheduled to play Syria on Thursday in Tehran’s Azadi Stadium.

Iran is in Group A along with South Korea, the UAE, Iraq, Lebanon and Syria.

Japan, Australia, Saudi Arabia, Vietnam, China and Oman are in Group B.

Goalkeepers:
Alireza Beiranvand, Amir Abedzadeh, Payam Niazmand

Defenders:
Shoja Khalilzadeh, Hossein Kanaani, Omid Nourafkan, Sadegh Moharami, Milad Mohammadi, Jafar Salmani, Aref Aghasi, Saleh Hardani, Siavash Yazdani

Midfielders:
Alireza Jahanbakhsh, Saeid Ezatolahi, Milad Sarlak, Ahmad Nourollahi, Mohammad Karimi, Yasin Salmani, Zobeir Niknafs, Vahid Amiri, Saman Ghoddos, Mehdi Torabi, Ali Gholizadeh

Strikers:
Mehdi Taremi, Karim Ansarifard, Sardar Azmoun, Mehdi Ghaedi

Group winners and runners-up will qualify for the 2022 World Cup.

The third teams will play a two-legged playoff. The winner then advances to an inter-confederation playoff, to be played June 2022.
