Iran’s Javelin Thrower Motaghian Earns Gold at Paralympic 2020

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran's Hashemiyeh Motaghian Moavi came out on top in the women's seated javelin finals, setting a new world record in the Paralympic Games.

She won the gold with a throw of 24.50 in the women's javelin - F55.

Rocha Machado of Brazil seized the silver with 24.39 meters.

Diana Dadzite from Latvia won the bronze with 24.22 meters.

It was Iran’s sixth gold medal in the 2020 Paralympic Games.

Rouhollah Rostami (powerlifting), Vahid Nouri and Mohammad Reza Kheirollahzadeh (judo), Amir Khosravani (long jump) and Mahdi Olad (shot putter) have already won five gold medals for Iran.
