Iran Sitting Volleyball Crowned Paralympics 2020 Champion

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran sitting volleyball team defeated Russian Paralympic Committee 3-1 (25-21, 25-14, 19-25, 25-17) in the 2020 Paralympic Games final match on Saturday.

It was Iran sitting volleyball’s seventh gold medal in the Paralympic Games after Team Melli won six gold medals at the 1988, 1992, 1996, 2000, 2008 and 2016 games.

Iran defeated Germany (3-0), Brazil (3-0), China (3-0) and Bosnia and Herzegovina (3-0) before the final.

Bosnia won the bronze medal after beating Brazil.

Rouhollah Rostami (powerlifting), Vahid Nouri and Mohammad Reza Kheirollahzadeh (judo), Amir Khosravani (long jump), Mahdi Olad (shot putter), Sareh Javanmardi (air pistol SH1), Hashemiyeh Motaghian Moavi (seated javelin), Saeid Afrooz (javelin), Zahra Nemati (archer) and Hamed Amiri (javelin thrower) had already won 10 gold medals for Iran.
