In a telephone conversation on Thursday, Dutch Foreign Minister Sigrid Kaag congratulated Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian on taking office, inviting the top Iranian diplomat to visit the Netherlands.
She also praised Iran for hosting millions of displaced Afghans for decades and for its humanitarian actions in this regard.
In their talks, the two ministers agreed on consultations between the political deputies of the two Ministries of Foreign Affairs and the review of bilateral relations.
They also agreed on the subsequent visit of the Dutch foreign minister to Iran in the future.
Amirabdollahian and Kaag further discussed the bilateral relations between Tehran and Amsterdam and the ways to expand them.
They also talked about the issues relating to Yemen and Afghanistan, the regional developments, and the Vienna talks on the revival of the 2015 Iran nuclear deal.
