COVID Daily Deaths Falling in Iran


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The daily death toll from the coronavirus pandemic in Iran decreased again on Tuesday, standing at 408, according to the Health Ministry.

The figures released by the Iranian Health Ministry on Tuesday indicate that the coronavirus has taken the lives of 408 patients over the past 24 hours, bringing the total death toll since the outbreak of the pandemic in February 2020 to 115,167.

According to the statistics, 22,329 new cases of COVID-19 infection have been reported across the country over the past 24 hours, with 3,436 of them hospitalized.

More than 4,627,200 individuals have recovered or been discharged from hospitals out of a total of 5,340,000 who have contracted the disease, the Ministry added.

Some 7,123 victims of COVID-19 are in severe condition and are being treated in intensive care facilities, it said.

The Ministry also said that more than 25.09 million Iranians have received the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine, while over 12.77 million have received the second dosage.

The number of people infected with COVID-19 across the world has surpassed 226 million and the death toll has exceeded 4.65 million.
