Iran Overtakes Japan in FIVB Ranking
TEHRAN (Tasnim – Iran overtook Japan in the updated FIVB men's world ranking.
Team Melli won the Asian Volleyball Championship for the fourth time on Sunday in Chiba, Japan.
Iran eased past Japan 3-0 and has now become the best Asian team in the ranking.
Iran sits in the 10th place in the ranking.
Japan is the second-best Asian team as it sits in the 11th place.
Brazil remains top of the table, followed by Poland, Russia, France and Italy in the ranking.
The changes are based on results from the ongoing games. According to volleyball's world governing body FIVB, the new dynamic ranking system will respond in real time after each competition day.
