Iranian Boy Who Died after Saving Women in Fire Declared ‘Martyr’

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei agreed to a request from the Foundation of Martyrs and Veterans Affairs to declare Ali Landi a martyr, after the self-sacrificing Iranian teenage boy who had saved two women from a burning house died of his burns.
Amir Hossein Qazizadeh Hashemi, the head of the Foundation of Martyrs and Veterans Affairs, wrote a letter to Ayatollah Khamenei, emphasizing Ali Landi's great self-sacrifice in rescuing two of his fellow citizens by going into the middle of a fire.
After the boy passed away on Friday due to severe burns, Qazizadeh Hashemi requested that the courageous teenage boy be declared a martyr. The request was accepted by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution.
Ali was a fifteen-year-old boy from the city of Izeh in Khuzestan Province, southwest of Iran.
Ali went into the middle of a burning fire to rescue two elderly women who were trapped in fire at a neighboring apartment. He was seriously burned and passed away on Friday.
