In a meeting with Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri, held in Beirut on Thursday, Amirabdollahian said Iran’s Ministry of Energy is ready to solve the problem of electricity shortage in Lebanon by carrying out various projects.

He added that Iranian technical and engineering companies are also able to provide world-class high-quality services for the Lebanese market at a lower price.

Congratulating Berri on the formation of a new government in Lebanon, Amirabdollahian praised the constructive role of the Lebanese parliament and its presidency in forming the new government and taking steps to strengthen national unity.

The Iranian foreign minister described supporting the friends as one of the main components of the new Iranian government's policy, stressing that the Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to pave the way for expanding cooperation between the two countries and encouraging Iranian economic activists to play an active role in Lebanon.

He also once again extended condolences over the passing away of the wife of Lebanese Shiite cleric Imam Mousa Sadr.

For his part, Berri thanked Iranian officials for their congratulatory messages on the formation of the new government in his country.

Berri said his country’s good relations and cooperation with Iran and its receiving of technical services from the Islamic Republic are necessary for Lebanon’s development, the Iranian Foreign Ministry’s website reported.

The Lebanese speaker also described engineering services received from Iran in various fields as a necessity for the development of Lebanon.

"We believe that a friend should be known in times of hardship and Iran has been a country that has been by Lebanon's side in difficult times and has helped strengthen and improve Lebanon’s position in the region,” Berri said.
