TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Secretary General of Lebanese Hezbollah Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah praised Iran as a trustworthy partner that never leaves its allies alone in dealing with difficulties.

In a meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian in Beirut on Thursday, Nasrallah appreciated the Islamic Republic as a sincere ally and a loyal friend that has proved that it does not allow its friends to be humiliated.

The secretary general of Hezbollah was referring to the policies of the US and Western states that leave their allies alone in the difficult conditions, such as in the recent developments in Afghanistan, from which the US withdrew humiliatingly.

Nasrallah also noted that Lebanon’s hopes are high for the settlement of the crisis under collective cooperation.

For his part, Foreign Minister Amirabdollahian reaffirmed Iran’s principled policy of supporting Lebanon in all fields.

In the gathering, also attended by Iran’s ambassador to Beirut, the two sides talked about the latest political developments in Lebanon and the region.

The foreign minister of Iran traveled to Beirut on Thursday after a visit to Moscow.

Amirabdollahian has held meetings with senior Lebanese officials, including President Michel Aoun and Prime Minister Najib Mikati.
