“We are prepared to support and assist Lebanon in hard days,” the senior Iranian diplomat said in a post on his Twitter account at the conclusion of a visit to Beirut.

“I held important talks with Lebanon’s high-ranking officials, leaders of parties, and elites,” Amirabdollahian noted.

He also hailed the “fruitful” negotiations with Secretary-General of Hezbollah Seyed Hassan Nasrallah, and once again congratulated the Lebanese nation on the formation of a new government.

“The ground is prepared for the promotion of cooperation” with Lebanon, he stated.

The foreign minister of Iran traveled to Beirut on Thursday after a visit to Moscow.

Amirabdollahian held meetings with senior Lebanese officials, including President Michel Aoun and Prime Minister Najib Mikati.
