Over 1,300 New COVID Cases Hospitalized in Iran

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The number of coronavirus patients who have been admitted to the hospital across Iran over the past 24 hours stood at around 1,300, the Health Ministry said on Thursday.

The new figures released by the Health Ministry indicate that the total number of people tested positive for COVID-19 infection in Iran has exceeded 6,019,900 following the detection of 7,539 new cases since yesterday.

Of the new cases detected in the past 24 hours, 1,323 patients have been admitted to the hospital, it said.

At least 5,656,400 patients have recovered from the coronavirus infection so far or have been discharged from hospitals across Iran, the ministry added.

It also put the death toll from COVID-19 in Iran at 127,809, saying the disease has taken the lives of 123 patients over the past 24 hours.

Among those undergoing treatment in medical centers at present, 3,582 coronavirus patients are in the intensive care units, it noted.

The ministry also said that more than 55.5 million Iranians have received the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine, while over 41.5 million have received the second dosage.

The number of people infected with COVID-19 across the world has surpassed 252 million and the death toll has exceeded 5.09 million.
