Iran's Shahrdari Sirjan 2nd in 2021 AFC Women’s Club C'ship

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Jordan’s Amman Club defeated Iran’s Shahrdari Sirjan 2-1 to win the AFC Women’s Club Championship 2021 at the Aqaba Development Corporate Stadium, Jordan on Saturday.

Goals by captain Maysa Jbarah and Shahnaz Jebreen secured Amman Club the title as it shook off the Matchday Two defeat to Uzbekistan’s Bunyodkor FC to lift the trophy.

For Shahrdari Sirjan, it was heartbreak at the very end in a tournament it had impressed in from the first matchday, with the Iranians losing out on the title on head-to-head.

Amman came into the tie knowing only a win would secure it the title while for Shahrdari Sirjan, avoiding defeat would crown the team champion.

Shahrdari Sirjan had defeated Bunyodkor and Indian Gokulam Kerala in the tournament.
