COVID Daily Death Toll in Iran Stands at 95

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The daily deaths from the coronavirus in Iran came down to double digits again, standing at 95 on Wednesday.

The figures released by the Iranian Health Ministry on Wednesday have marked one of the lowest daily deaths from the pandemic in the past 8 months.

The ministry put the total deaths from COVID-19 in the country at 129,280, saying the disease has taken the lives of 95 patients over the past 24 hours.

Over the past 24 hours, 4,813 new cases of COVID-19 infection were reported, with 724 of them hospitalized, the ministry added.

More than 5,819,000 individuals have recovered or been discharged from hospitals out of a total of 6,092,800 ones who have contracted the disease, it said.

Some 3,375 victims of COVID-19 are in severe condition and are being treated in intensive care facilities, it added.

The ministry also said that more than 57.06 million Iranians have received the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine, while over 45.65 million have received the second dosage.

The number of people infected with COVID-19 across the world has surpassed 259 million and the death toll has exceeded 5.18 million.
