COVID Hospitalizations in Iran below 600

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The number of coronavirus patients admitted to the hospital across Iran over the past 24 hours stood at around 580, the Health Ministry said.

Over the past 24 hours, 3,045 new cases of COVID-19 infection were reported, with 583 of them hospitalized, the ministry said on Saturday.

It put the death toll from COVID-19 in Iran at 129,549, saying the disease has taken the lives of 87 patients over the past 24 hours.

More than 5,853,000 individuals have recovered or been discharged from hospitals out of a total of 6,105,000 who have contracted the disease, the ministry added.

Some 3,356 victims of COVID-19 are in severe condition and are being treated in intensive care facilities, it said.

The ministry also said that more than 57.33 million Iranians have received the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine, while over 46.32 million have received the second dosage.

The number of people infected with COVID-19 across the world has surpassed 261 million and the death toll has exceeded 5.2 million.
