Coronavirus in Iran: Zero Deaths in 9 Provinces

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Nine of the 32 provinces in Iran have reported zero new deaths from COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, as the total number of vaccines injected in the country has surpassed 105 million doses.

Over the past 24 hours, 4,310 new cases of COVID-19 infection were reported in Iran, with 645 of them hospitalized, the Health Ministry said on Monday.

It put the death toll from COVID-19 in Iran at 129,711, saying the disease has taken the lives of 82 patients over the past 24 hours, while no patient has died in nine provinces.

More than 5,873,400 individuals have recovered or been discharged from hospitals out of a total of 6,113,000 who have contracted the disease, the ministry added.

Some 3,338 victims of COVID-19 are in severe condition and are being treated in intensive care facilities, it said.

The ministry also said that more than 57.48 million Iranians have received the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine, while over 46.68 million have received the second dosage.

The number of people infected with COVID-19 across the world has surpassed 261 million and the death toll has exceeded 5.21 million.
