Scholar: Iranian Leadership Committed to Defending the Country

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – An Iranian university instructor has marked down an answer to a recent article by Simon Tisdal, a prolific columnist for The Guardian, regarding the recent Iran nuclear negotiations.

Tisdal has written several articles on the Middle East, including Iran. Just one day in advance of the recent nuclear negotiations, he published an opinion article in The Guardian analyzing the prospects.

Although the article is sophisticated and well-researched, there is at least one point in his remarks that seems to have been made simply based on conjecture.

Iranian scholar Akbar Fijani’s opinion regarding The Guardian’s article goes as follows:

I agree with Mr. Tisdall in the stated and implied views that Iranian “hardliners”, as he calls them, will not surrender to US and its allies; that Israel is waging a war on Iran; that the fact that Israel, US, UK, France and other countries are expanding their nukes will be a great obstacle to successful negotiations and world peace; that military confrontation will not be the right option, given Iran’s considerable power and the inevitable catastrophic consequences of a war; and that Iran does not intend to make nuclear weapons.

I am, however, strongly opposed to the notion that Iranian “hardline” leadership are any stupid. Rather, they are highly wise and intelligent, although not cunning like some political elites in the West. Unlike the majority of statesmen in the United States and its allied countries, they are predominately benevolent politicians committed to defending their country and the oppressed nations and groups worldwide.

Is seeking justice, fighting for one’s rights, and not surrendering to the global dictators and warmongers’ illogical demands and pressures ‘stupidity’?

It seems Mr. Tisdal is urgently in need of conducting some investigative research about the so called “hardline” leadership in Iran using reliable sources.

He will soon learn that they do not resemble (former US president Donald) Trump in any way.
