Soldier Killed in Israeli Air Attack on Syrian Southern Region

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Syrian air defenses shot down a number of Israeli missiles, in a response to the Zionist enemy attack that targeted some military sites in the southern region of the Arab country.

Citing a military source in the region, the Syrian Arab News Agency reported that the Israeli enemy carried out a new aerial aggression by launching waves of missile attacks from over the occupied Syrian Golan at 12:50 a.m. on Thursday dawn, targeting some sites in the southern region.

The report continued to say that the Syrian air defenses have managed to intercept a number of enemy’s missiles and shot them down.

The source added that the Israeli aggression led to the martyrdom of a soldier as well as causing material damage.

The Israeli regime maintains a significant military presence in the territory, which it uses as a launch pad for its attacks on the Syrian soil.

The attacks started to grow significantly in scale and frequency after 2011, when Syria found itself in the grip of rampant foreign-backed militancy and terrorism.

Tel Aviv claims that its attacks target alleged supplies that are headed for the Lebanese resistance movement of Hezbollah. On countless occasions, though, the strikes have targeted the reinforcement belonging to Syria’s military and its allies.

The Zionist regime has also been providing safe passage and medical treatment to the Takfiri terrorists, who flee the allies’ defensive operations.
