Iran, Taliban’s Top Diplomats Meet in Pakistan

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian and the foreign minister of the Taliban, Amir Khan Muttaqi, held a meeting in Islamabad.

The gathering was held on the sidelines of a ministerial meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Islamabad on Sunday.

According to Abdul Qahar Balkhi, the spokesperson of the Foreign Ministry of the Taliban, Amirabdollahian and Muttaqi talked about the current situation in Afghanistan, security and humanitarian issues, and the economic, political and trade relations between Tehran and Kabul.

Islamabad played host to a ministerial meeting of the OIC members on Sunday for talks on the crisis in Afghanistan.
