COVID Vaccines Injected in Iran Surpass 120 Million Doses

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Iranian Health Ministry said on Sunday that more than 120 million jabs of COVID-19 vaccines have been injected across the country.

New figures released by the Health Ministry indicate that more than 120 million doses of coronavirus vaccines have been administered in the country as of Sunday, with over 52 million people having received at least two doses of the vaccine.

While more than 42.18 million coronavirus diagnostic tests have been carried out in Iran so far, the total number of people tested positive has exceeded 6,196,900 following the detection of 1,510 new cases since Saturday.

Of the new cases detected in the past 24 hours, 294 patients have been admitted to the hospital.

At least 6,040,800 patients have recovered from the coronavirus infection so far or have been discharged from hospitals across Iran.

The ministry also put the death toll from COVID-19 in Iran at 131,680, saying the disease has taken the lives of 41 patients over the past 24 hours.

Among those undergoing treatment in medical centers at present, 2,658 coronavirus patients are in the intensive care units.

The number of people infected with COVID-19 across the world has surpassed 289 million and the death toll has exceeded 5.45 million.
