President Hails Military Forces for Guarding Iran against US
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi lauded the country’s armed forces for protecting the country’s sovereignty and territorial waters against the American military forces and other uninvited outsiders.
In comments at a meeting of people in Iran’s southern province of Hormozgan on Thursday evening, President Raisi said the Iranian armed forces have protected the country by guarding the sea against the American troops and other foreign forces that are present in the region like usurpers.
Highlighting the rich resources in the coastal province, the president said, "Hormozgan has the sea, mines, industries, and efficient and educated human resources who are ready to work."
"There is good cohesion among all ethnic groups in this region. This capital must be maintained and strengthened,” he stated, the government’s official website reported.
Emphasizing the importance of the Makran coasts in southern Iran, the president said, "In the cabinet, we proposed the maximum use of the capacities of these coasts and a mechanism was approved for it so that we can make full use of this capital at the national level and with the cooperation of ministries."
Referring to the sale of agricultural products to the neighboring states, President Raisi said, "We agree to create a common border market for the sale of agricultural products in the province to neighboring countries."
Iranian officials have repeatedly underscored the ability of regional countries to ensure security in the Persian Gulf and deplored the presence of foreign forces in the region.
In May 2020, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei said the Persian Gulf belongs to the nations living there, and those are the ones responsible for ensuring its security.
“The Persian Gulf belongs to the nations living there. Its security is the duty of these nations, & Iran with its long coastlines has a key role in keeping the security of this region. By God’s grace we will do our part. This is our historical, geographical & regional duty,” the Leader said at the time.
Ayatollah Khamenei also said that a “wise and rational collective policy” in favor of the people of the region cannot be achieved while foreign forces are present in the Persian Gulf.
