Persepolis Advances to Iran’s Hazfi Cup Quarterfinals
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Persepolis football team advanced to Iran’s Hazfi Cup quarterfinals thanks to a 3-0 win over Zob Ahan on Monday.
Vahid Amiri scored a goal in the first half in Isfahan’s Foolad Shahr Stadium and Mehdi Abdi scored a brace in the second half.
Defending champion Foolad was defeated against Mes in Kerman. Two teams shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw and Mes defeated the visiting team 5-4 in a penalty shootout.
Sepahan also lost to Aluminum 4-3 on penalties after two teams drew 1-1 in Arak.
And Kheybar Khorramabad humiliated Sanat Naft 5-1 in its home match.
