Second Division Khalij Fars into Iran’s Hazfi Cup QF
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Second Division side Khalij Fars made history by booking its place in Iran’s Hazfi Cup quarterfinals.
On Tuesday, the Mahshahr-based football team defeated Naft Masjed Soleyman 2-1 and advanced to the next stage.
Abbas Tahmasbi and Mostafa Badavi scored for the visiting team and Hadi Mir Javan scored for Naft.
In another match, Nassaji defeated Gol Gohar 3-1. Morteza Mansouri, Karim Eslami and Reza Jafari scored for Nassaji and Reza Shekari was on target for Gol Gohar.
Mes Rafsanjan also earned a 1-0 win over Padidieh in Rafsanjan, thanks to Mohsen Azarbad’s extra-time goal.
The Paykan and Esteghlal match, which had been scheduled for Tuesday, was postponed after a number of Esteghlal players contracted COVID-19.
