Officials Discuss Plans to Boost Iran-Austria Trade Ties

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Ranking diplomats from Iran and Austria weighed plans to promote economic and trade relations between the two countries.

Mahdi Safari, Iran’s deputy foreign minister for economic diplomacy, held a meeting with Austrian Deputy Foreign Minister Peter Launsky-Tieffenthal in Vienna on Wednesday.

In the meeting, also attended by Iran’s ambassador to Austria, Safari underlined the Islamic Republic’s seriousness in the Vienna talks on the revival of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

He also stressed the need for Iran and Austria to enter into agreements required for expansion of economic and trade relations in various arenas.

Launsky-Tieffenthal, for his part, underscored Austria’s support for the ongoing talks in Vienna and expressed hope that a deal will be reached.

He said Austria is also willing to expand trade relations with Iran.
