COVID Daily Deaths in Iran above 200

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The death toll from the COVID-19 pandemic in Iran has surpassed 136,800 after 207 more patients succumbed to the disease, the Health Ministry said.

Figures released by the ministry on Monday show that the coronavirus has taken the lives of 207 patients over the past 24 hours, bringing the total death toll since the outbreak of the pandemic in February 2020 to 136,838.

According to the statistics, 10,962 new cases of COVID-19 infection have been reported across the country over the past 24 hours, with 1,821 of them hospitalized.

More than 6.65 million individuals have recovered or been discharged from hospitals out of a total of 7,051,400 who have contracted the disease, the ministry added.

Some 3,950 victims of COVID-19 are in severe condition and are being treated in intensive care facilities, it said.

The ministry also said that over 62.84 million Iranians have received the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine, over 55.48 million have received the second dosage, and more than 23.19 million have gotten the booster shots.

The number of people infected with COVID-19 across the world has surpassed 436 million and the death toll has exceeded 5.96 million.
