Kevin Yamga opened the scoring for the Blues in the 45th minute from the penalty spot.
Gol Gohar forward Morteza Tabrizi levelled the score in the 54th minute.
Yamga once again was on target from the penalty spot just one minute remaining.
Persepolis lost to Sanat Naft 2-0 in Abadan. Mohammad Reza Ghobeishavi scored Sanat Naft’s first goal just seven minutes into the match and Mahmoud Motlaghzadeh made it 2-0 in the 70th minute.
Esteghlal cemented its place with 51 points, six points above Persepolis.
