COVID Daily Death Toll in Iran Down to 109


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The daily deaths from the coronavirus in Iran decreased again on Wednesday, standing at 109.

According to the figures released by the Iranian Health Ministry on Wednesday, the total deaths from COVID-19 in the country has reached 139,289, as the disease has taken the lives of 109 patients over the past 24 hours.

Since yesterday, 3,010 new cases of COVID-19 infection were reported, with 521 of them hospitalized, the ministry added.

More than 6,798,300 individuals have recovered or been discharged from hospitals out of a total of 7,133,100 ones who have contracted the disease, it said.

Some 2,360 victims of COVID-19 are in severe condition and are being treated in intensive care facilities, it added.

The ministry also said that over 63.66 million Iranians have received the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine, over 56.37 million have received the second dosage, and more than 25.43 million have gotten the booster shots.

The number of people infected with COVID-19 across the world has surpassed 462 million and the death toll has exceeded 6.07 million.
