Vital Heynen Passes His Knowledge to Iranian Volleyball Coaches

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Belgian coach Vital Heynen came to Iran to pass on his knowledge and experience both in theoretical and practical sessions to the Iranian coaches.

The advanced refresher course for the coaches, conducted by highly-experienced coach Heynen, came to a fruitful close at Olympic Hotel in Tehran, with 250 coaches attending the course.

Heynen, who was twice named Belgian Coach of the Year in 2009 and 2011, became a head coach of Germany national team in February 2012 and at the 2014 FIVB Men’s Volleyball World Championship, his team beat France in the third-place playoff for bronze medal.

In 2017, he took over Belgian national team and on February 7, 2018, was chosen as the new head coach of Poland men’s national volleyball team. He led Poland to a scintillating win against Brazil in the final showdown in the 2018 FIVB Men’s Volleyball World Championship in Italy, helping the Poles capture back-to-back world titles. Heynen is currently at the helm of the Germany women’s national volleyball team.

Trends in modern volleyball and the role of the coaches, Planning and Drill design (methodology of training), mental and psychological aspects of coaching, the effective analysis of the opponents were part of the key topics he had conducted in the three-day course.

As the theoretical part was held at Olympic Hotel, the practical session took place at the Federation Hall.
