Iranian Spokesman Urges Muslims to Unite Behind Palestine

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry decried the Zionist regime’s new wave of atrocities against Palestinians, calling on all Muslims to stand united behind the cause of Palestine.

“Deeply outraged by new atrocities of Israeli regime. We strongly condemn desecration of al-Aqsa Mosque,” Saeed Khatibzadeh said in a post on his Twitter account on Saturday.

“Reminder that normalization with apartheid regime of Israel only encourages the oppressor to double down on its brutality,” he added.

“Muslims must stand united behind Palestinian cause,” the Iranian spokesman said.

On Saturday morning, the Israeli forces’ aggression extended inside al-Aqsa Mosque, as they stormed the mosque’s courtyards and attacked worshipers, injuring more than 150 Palestinians and arresting 400 others.

In a Friday phone call with Ismail Haniyeh, head of the political bureau of the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian denounced the Israeli regime’s attack at al-Aqsa Mosque, saying resistance is alive while the Zionists are in desperation.
