Sepahan Must Beat Al-Taawoun: Navidkia
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Sepahan head coach Moharram Navidkia says that they must get a result Monday night against Al-Taawoun should they want to stay in contention for a place in the knockout stage of the 2022 AFC Champions League.
Sepahan will meet the Saudi Arabian side on Matchday Four in Group D.
Sepahan has not advanced to the knockout stage since 2012.
“This game will be extremely important for us,” said Navidkia. “It is true that we lost two games against Al-Duhail and Al-Taawoun, but we will fight hard to try to get back on track and get up to six points to stay in the competition.
“We need to be fully focused, especially in the next game. Yes, the players are a bit disappointed after two consecutive defeats, but we have to do our best to get the three points and keep our qualification hopes alive,” he added.
