ACL 2022 Group D: Sepahan Fights Back to Hold Al-Taawoun
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Sepahan football team and Al-Taawoun FC shared the points in a 1-1 draw in their second match-up in Group D of the AFC Champions League 2022 at the King Abdullah Sports City stadium on Monday.
Two minutes into the second half, Sumayhan Al Nabit opened the scoring with a deceiving low strike into Rashid Mazaheri’s net.
Shahriyar Moghanlou levelled the scoreboard in the 65th minute.
The result leaves the Buraidah-based side in second place on seven points behind Al-Duhail SC who had emphatically beaten Pakhtakor FC earlier, while Sepahan will need to win their next two games to have a chance of snatching the automatic knockout stage ticket as it sits in third place on four points.
