Shamkhani is planned to pay a visit to Armenia on Thursday, July 7, Nournews reported on Wednesday.
He will travel to Yerevan at the invitation of Secretary of the Security Council of Armenia Armen Grigoryan.
Shamkhani is scheduled to hold talks with his Armenia counterpart and with Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan to discuss bilateral, regional and international issues.
After the trip to Armenia, the senior Iranian security official will travel to a number of other Caucasus countries.
