US into 2022 VNL Semis
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The US was the first team to advance to the men’s Volleyball Nations League 2022 semifinals.
The American team beat defending champion Brazil 3-1 (20-25, 25-22, 25-23, 25-17) at the start of the VNL Finals in Bologna, Italy.
US outside hitter Torey Defalco contributed 17 points to his team’s win over Brazil, sandwiched between opponents’ outsides Yoandy Leal (18 points) and Ricardo Lucarelli (16) at the top of the match scorers’ chart.
The US has progressed to the last four of the competition for the third time in history.
John Speraw’s team will play the winner of the Iran and Poland match on Saturday.
