Iran Downs Afghanistan at 2022 CAFA U-19 Championship
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran defeated Afghanistan 4-0 in the 2022 CAFA U-19 Championships.
Erfan Ghorbani, Saeid Saharkhizan, Amin Hazbavi and Mojtaba Fakhrian scored Iran's goals in the match.
Samad Marfavi’s boys had been held to a 2-2 draw by Uzbekistan in their opening match.
Iran will play Kyrgyzstan on Wednesday.
Uzbekistan won the first edition in 2016 and Iran claimed the title in the second edition held in 2019.
The CAFA Junior Championship is an international football competition in Central Asia for the member nations of the Central Asian Football Association (CAFA).
