Iranian Woman Fencer Bakhti Wins Bronze: ISG 2021
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian fencer Azam Bakhti won a bronze medal in the 2021 Islamic Solidarity Games on Tuesday.
She took the bronze in the Women’s Epee Individual to become the first Iranian woman to win a medal in an international event in the weapon.
The gold medal went to Turkey’s Aleyna Erturk who defeated Shahzoda Egamberdieva from Uzbekistan.
The 2021 Islamic Solidarity Games are being held in Konya, Turkey, from August 9 to 18, 2022. It is a multinational, multi-sport event that is played between the athletes from the nations of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
