2022 AVC Cup for Women: Iran to Play Chinese Taipei in 5th-8th Place
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran will play Chinese Taipei for the 5th-8th semifinals bracket of the 2022 AVC Cup for Women on Sunday.
Team Melli Banovan lost to Japan 3-1 win (25-23, 25-21, 26-28, 25-16) in quarterfinals.
Yuki Nishikawa and Miyuki Tanaka powered the team with double-digit scores (18 points and 13 points respectively) during the quarterfinals encounter on Saturday evening at the PhilSports Arena to mark Japan’s fourth consecutive win in the competition.
The 2022 AVC Cup for Women is the seventh edition of the Asian Cup, a biennial international volleyball tournament organized by the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) with Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF).
The tournament is being held in Pasig, Philippines, from August 21 to 29.
