Khosravi Vafa Takes Over as President of Iran Olympic Committee

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The current president of Iran’s Paralympic Committee, Mahmoud Khosravi Vafa, was appointed as the president of the country’s Olympic committee on Sunday.

In the elections that took place in Tehran’s Olympic Academy, Khosravi Vafa defeated former deputy of Iran’s Sports Ministry Mehdi Alinejad to lead Iran’s NOC for a four-year term till 2026.

Khosravi Vafa was elected as president with 28 votes, while Alinejad earned 27 votes.

He replaced Reza Salehi Amiri in the post in the elections.

Khosravi Vafa has been the president of the Iran Paralympic Committee since 2001.
